The New Standard in craniofacial combat casualty dressing

The New Standard in craniofacial combat casualty dressing
COMBATECT was designed and developed by an internationally renowned neurosurgeon to optimize battlefield craniofacial injury management. The very first step in craniofacial combat casualty management is proper and efficient application of protective dressing, following adequate hemostasis. Ideally, this dressing should add some degree of compression to the underlying wound to aid in swelling reduction and hemostasis.
· The current technique and the material used to dress the combat wounds to the head and face date back to well before WWI, when the neurosurgical subspecialty was founded in the early 1900’s by Dr. Harvey Cushing. Nothing, in terms of the technique or the material used, changed over the last century! (Picture on the left)
· Its application requires a few minutes, and the failure rate (i.e. the dressing coming undone) is high when not done properly.
· It is also difficult, dangerous and time-consuming (taking minutes) to apply to wounded soldiers on battle fields, requiring combat medics to assume the kneeled position, exposing themselves to enemy fires.
· There is a dire need for the new standard craniofacial dressing to replace the archaic one.
COMBATECT is the new standard in craniofacial dressing technique & material which rectifies all of the shortcomings associated with the old standard:
